Janet Curry, MA, founder of Stillpoint Counseling and Mindfulness Training, is in private practice as a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher and licensed professional counselor. Her passion for mindfulness has grown from her own experience of its benefits; she began her first MBSR course while in the midst of coping with her young son’s chronic illness and the residue of her own childhood trauma. The profound sense of coming home that she has experienced, and of making peace with her body, mind and heart has fueled her commitment to making these practices widely available to others. Janet is currently earning a master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy at Oxford University.
