Kate’s warm and heartfelt meditations combine mindfulness practice with social action and creative expression.

Kate's bio:

Kate Johnson has taught mindful yoga and meditation to people of all ages and backgrounds in schools, community health centers and social justice organizations, combining spiritual practice with social action and creative expression. She’s been practicing Buddhist meditation in the western Insight/Theravada tradition since 2008, and is empowered to teach through Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Kate also has a background in the arts, with a BFA in Dance from the Alvin Ailey School at Fordham University and an MA in performance studies from NYU. Currently, Kate teaches meditation at New York Insight Meditation Center, the Rubin Museum, and the School of Visual Arts, and designs online programs at Buddhist Peace Fellowship. Her first book will be published in Spring 2019.
